Films and Activities for the 8th Sitges Week in Buenos Aires

It's almost here!Just a few days remain until the Sitges Week in Buenos Aires, the event that brings the best of fantastic cinema to the capital of Argentina.

This year, Sitges Week in Buenos Aires unveils an unmissable lineup featuring six films that represent the best in contemporary fantastic cinema. From Monday, December 9, to Wednesday, December 11, audiences will enjoy an outstanding selection of feature films that were highly acclaimed at our Festival. This eighth edition in Buenos Aires is supported by the Buenos Aires Film Commission, the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires City, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Argentina, and the Sitges Festival itself.

CALL ME PAUL, by Víctor Matellano
August 1991. Filmmaker Jacinto Molina, better known as Paul Naschy, is suffering a heart attack. As he is rushed to the operating room, all his memories flash through his mind like a film. He recalls good and bad moments, and a movie where he poured his obsessions and passions, The Howl of the Devil. Childhood memories also come to him, shaping his cinema and authorship.

EXORCISM, by Alberto Sedano
The death of Franco in 1975 opened the doors to uncensored cinema. For two years, censorship relaxed until 1977, when it was abolished entirely, introducing the "S" rating to protect viewers from films that might "offend their sensitivity." The "S" rating was granted for content that was especially violent, sexual, or political, becoming a commercial draw for a society recovering from decades of repression.
