It's Bloody Green... and Certified!

Sitges - International Fantastic Film Festival are delighted to announce that it has achieved the Greener Festival Commended Certification 2023.

The certification was achieved following a rigorous assessment process by not-for-profit sustainability specialists A Greener Future (AGF). The assessment involves detailed analysis of areas of sustainability such as transport, energy and power, waste, water usage, local environment, CO2 and food and beverages and involves an on site visit by qualified AGF assessors.

Commended signifies a well-managed, environmentally aware festival going beyond expectation to make positive change.

‘And yet another “terrific” edition of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, packed with the best genre cinema as well as lots of parallel activities, from stop motion and masks’ workshops for kids over to zombie walks or scary make up sessions to be enjoyed in different areas all around the town.

Sitges’ commitment to sustainability was clearly visible in this edition with their original #BloodyGreen campaign, highlighting endangered species and best sustainable practices throughout the festival grounds with the help of an amazing team of volunteers and a dedicated information stand.

Further, their program Woman in Fan #WIF23, which focuses on the visibility and incorporation of creative women in fantastic cinematography continues growing in recognition and inspiring future generations.’
