The Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia organizes Sitges FanPitch (Sitges FanLab), its pitch competition for feature film and serialized production projects, for the tenth consecutive year.
Sitges FanPitch is an international pitch competition event focused on feature films and serialized productions in development with horror, science fiction and/or fantasy themes. The event will take place in a hybrid form on October 6 and 7, 2024 within the framework of the Sitges Festival.
In total, a maximum of five series and a maximum of seven feature films from around the world will be selected. To these will be added the projects selected by the Festival in the Sitges FanPitch collaborating film markets. Those responsible for the selected projects will have the opportunity to make a sales pitch and meet with each of the participating companies. In addition, the five winning feature film projects will be eligible for travel bags for international circulation. This year, Feratum, International Fantastic Film Festival, located in Mexico, joins the Sitges FanPitch market circuit, which will select a Sitges FanPitch project to be part of the next Feratum Residency, at the same time, we create an extra section dedicated to projects in Catalan entitled Catalunya Imaginaria. In the series category, 1 winning project will be selected, which will be awarded a cash prize for its development.
For the fourth consecutive year, this edition will be complemented by the Showrunners LAB, an introductory and advisory seminar on the figure of the showrunner. The selected series projects will be able to carry out individual mentoring with the showrunners participating in this edition.
All selected projects will receive free Industry accreditation for this year’s Festival to be able to attend all industry activities (except private ones), be part of the Sitges Industry Online-Catalan Films platform, and the film screenings included with their accreditation.
The projects selected at Sitges FanPitch will be eligible for the following prizes:

Cash prize of 2,500 euros (VAT included) for the project’s development*
** The representative of the winning series project must submit a proposal for expenses as part of the production development plan, which will be approved and paid for directly by the Sitges Film Festival of Catalonia Foundation.

PARTICIPATING COMPANIES
Candidate projects must present:
- Candidates must submit a script, dossier with project synopsis, film references, and description of the target audience (in English), a maximum 3-minute video pitch (in English or English-subtitled), and a proposed movie/series poster.
- Commitment to participation and recognition of the sole spokesperson by the project.
- Commitment to include the Sitges FanPitch and Sitges FanLab logos in the production credits if the project is realized.
The project selected in the Sitges FanPitch-Sitges FanLab will receive the logo accrediting it as a finalist and winner of the call. The organization will recognize the signatory of these rules as the only interlocutor to negotiate all aspects related to the participation of their project and as the only person responsible to other companies or people that may participate in the production of their project. In the event that the corresponding feature or series is carried out, the winning projects undertake to add the Sitges FanPitch and Sitges FanLab logo to the production credits.
